Management Consultants in the Vanguard Directory
Management consultants work on how a business runs: its processes, staffing, reporting lines, systems and costs. Owners usually call one when growth has outpaced the way things are done, when margins are slipping without an obvious cause, or before a reorganization, acquisition or software rollout they cannot afford to get wrong.
The useful questions are about who and what. Who will actually do the work — the person who pitched you, or someone you have not met? What do you get at the end: a report with recommendations, or hands-on help putting changes in place? Ask for a past engagement similar in size and industry to yours, and how its success was measured. Fixed-fee projects with a defined deliverable are easier to compare than open-ended hourly work. If your question is direction rather than operations, a strategy consultant may suit better.
Each firm here filled in its own listing, and a person checked the submission before it went public. If you help companies run better, apply to get listed — there is no charge and it takes a few minutes.
