Immigration Lawyers in the Vanguard Directory
Immigration lawyers guide people and employers through federal immigration processes: family-based petitions, green cards, work visas, naturalization, asylum, DACA renewals and defense in immigration court. Visitors here may be planning years ahead or holding a notice that needs a response soon. Other areas of law are grouped under legal services.
This is not legal advice, just questions to ask. Immigration is federal law, so a lawyer licensed in any state can represent you anywhere in the country; ask which state bar licenses them and confirm their standing there. Beware of “notarios” and consultants who are not attorneys — only lawyers and accredited representatives of recognized nonprofits may give immigration legal help. Fees are often flat per filing, with government filing fees on top, so ask for both in writing. Ask whether the lawyer appears in immigration court personally, and who prepares and tracks your case. If an employer is sponsoring you, ask whose client you are — yours or the company’s.
Every immigration practice listed here submitted its own profile, and a person reviewed it before it was published. If you represent immigrants or their employers, apply to get listed — it is free and brief.
