Interior Designers in the Vanguard Directory
Interior designers plan how a space looks and works: layout, lighting, finishes, furniture, color, and the order in which it all gets bought and installed. People land on this page when they are furnishing a new home, redoing a single room, or heading into a renovation and want someone to make the decisions hold together.
A handful of states regulate the title “interior designer,” but most do not, so the portfolio is your main evidence — look for finished rooms, not just mood boards. The question that matters most is how they charge: a flat design fee, hourly, a percentage of the project, or a markup on furniture bought through their trade accounts. Ask who places and tracks orders, who receives deliveries, and what happens when a piece is backordered. If walls are moving, the designer will need to work alongside remodeling contractors.
Each design studio below sent in its own listing, and a person read it before it was published. If you practice interior design, apply to get listed — free, and only a few minutes of your time.
