Business Services Directory

Business services are the work that keeps a company running behind the scenes, handled by an outside firm rather than staff. In the Vanguard Directory this section currently centers on janitorial services — office, retail and facility cleaning on a contract basis. Advisors, designers and other specialists have sections of their own, which you can reach from the full category list.

Hiring a service company differs from hiring for a single job, because the relationship repeats week after week. Before signing, read the contract term and the notice period for cancelling, and find out who your contact is when something is missed. Ask whether the work is done by the company’s own employees or by subcontractors, and whether those workers are covered by the company’s insurance. A short trial period against a written scope tells you more than any proposal.

The businesses in this section entered their own details, and every submission was read by a person before publication. If you provide services to other businesses, apply to get listed — free, takes a few minutes.
